Here at Test MeD Clinic, we are delighted to offer Acoustic Wave Therapy as a treatment for erectile dysfunction. We understand that erectile dysfunction can be very disappointing and cause stress, affect your self-confidence, and cause relationship issues.
Erectile dysfunction is defined as the inability to achieve and maintain a firm erection to engage in sexual intercourse. There are many physical or psychological reasons men struggle with this condition. Erectile dysfunction occurs when the blood flow to the penis is decreased or the muscles of the penis do not relax, which causes men to men experience weak erections that lose their rigidity too quickly. Successful management of ED requires improving blood flow. Test MeD Clinic offers modern shockwave or acoustic wave therapy, which has shown great results.
What is Acoustic Wave Therapy?
Acoustic wave therapy, also known as shock wave therapy, is a safe, non-invasive procedure that relies on high-frequency low-intensity sound waves to improve blood flow to the penis. The primary objective of acoustic wave therapy is to stimulate the growth of new blood vessels alongside opening existing blood vessels and improving blood circulation in the penis and surrounding areas.
Acoustic Wave Therapy has previously been proven to successfully aid many organs in the body to improve blood flow and aid in healing (one example is breaking kidney stones). With blood flood being the main cause of ED, the FDA has recently approved its use for erectile dysfunction.
How Does It Work?
Using an acoustic wave therapy device, low-intensity sound waves are sent pulsating to the penis. This works to break down built-up micro plaque in the blood vessels. This encourages the rejuvenation of blood vessels, capillaries, and tissue, which results in larger vessels and less plaque which returns blood flow, activates signaling pathways and transmits stem cells to the source.
What Can You Expect During Treatments?
Each treatment is conducted by our trusted and certified technicians. Upon arrival, trained staff will palpate (examine your skin by touch) to locate the target area to ensure the precision application of the treatment. A gel is then applied to the area to ensure that the waves are transferred smoothly and efficiently. Each procedure is expected to take about 10-20 minutes. Little to no pain is expected but if you are feeling some discomfort, numbing cream will be available to you. AWT requires no downtime so patients are able to return to work or daily activities as they choose. Though you may need to consult with a provider most patients require a series of 2-6 sessions, spaced one week apart. The best part is that patients typically experience no visible symptoms or negative side effects post-procedure. This ensures discretion and makes your treatments known to you and you alone.
What Can You Expect Post Treatment?
As stated above patients that have undergone Acoustic Wave therapy experience little to no visible symptoms. Results may vary but, in some patients with mild to moderate ED, results have been reported to be noticed within the first day of treatment. AWT has had a success rate of 80%-85% for treating ED. Benefits of AWT includes:
- Increased libido and sexual function
- Firmer, fuller, and harder erections
- Decreased recovery time between orgasms
- Spontaneous erections without killing the mood by “popping a pill”
- Increased blood flow.
